What does it mean to trust God?

“Keep your plans in open hands.”

I said this a million times, but when all of my dreams were met with disasters, I had to wrestle out what it meant to truly trust God. Suddenly, my relationships, career, and body were in disarray, and all the church had to say about it was, “just trust God.” What does that even mean?

It’s about time we know what we mean when we say, “just trust God.”  That’s why I wrote this book. “Open Hands” brings you from a place of vague hope in a change of your circumstances to a firm understanding of the goodness of God’s character. It guides you from feelings-oriented faith to a secure dwelling in God’s hands for you.  Through brutal vulnerability of my life and a whole lot of scripture, I seek to encourage your trust in God as we hold loosely to our dreams, disappointments, and disasters.

Don’t settle for an intellectual trust that is an inch deep and a mile wide. Know who you trust, trust Him deeply, and live freely as result. The open-handed life awaits.

I Accidentally Wrote A Book

At first it was just a heartbroken journal entry. That turned into a series of conversations which turned into a blog post which turned into the longest blog post series no one would read. Now it’s a book! I can’t wait to get “Open Hands” into your hands. This book has softened my heart and strengthened my trust. It has guided me through tough and wonderful seasons, and I pray it will do the same for you.
